Last year Southwest Showcase created two new awards open to all event industry associations and their members: the Industry Professional of the Year Award, and the Most Exciting Meeting Destination Change award.
Time to start thinking about your nominees–application for the awards opens August 1.
The Industry Professional of the Year Award is open to both planners and suppliers. Nominees must be currently employed in the meetings industry, be a member in good standing of at least one association affiliated with the industry, and have been actively involved in the industry for a minimum of 10 years. Congratulations to our 2017 winner, Jeffrey Rasco, Founder and CEO of Attendee Management, Inc.
The Most Exciting Meeting Destination Change award recognizes any city, bureau, organization, group or company that has made a significant change to a destination of interest to the event industry. Eligible destinations include hotels, resorts, cities, or an area within a city or county, among others. Projects submitted must have been largely completed in 2016 or 2017. Congratulations to our 2017 winner, Visit San Antonio for the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
Nominations by members of any event-related association are welcome and all will be considered equally. Applications open Tuesday, August 1, 2017, cutoff date is September 15, 2017.
