Southwest Showcase is proud to announce the creation of two new awards to honor those in the meeting planning community: the Industry Professional of the Year Award, and the Most Exciting Meeting Destination Change award.
Southwest Showcase represents and supports associations and organizations that hold meetings, as well as meeting related suppliers. Our mission is to provide the education, peer-to-peer networking and best practices that help our attendees do a better job every day. For that reason, Southwest Showcase is uniquely positioned to recognize the achievements of those who work to support and promote the entire meeting industry.
The Industry Professional of the Year Award is open to both planners and suppliers. Nominees must be currently employed in the meetings industry, be a member in good standing of at least one association affiliated with the industry, and have been actively involved in the industry for a minimum of 10 years.
The Most Exciting Meeting Destination Change award recognizes any city, bureau, organization, group or company that has made a significant change to a destination of interest to the event industry. Eligible destinations include hotels, resorts, cities, or an area within a city or county, among others. Projects submitted must have been largely completed in 2015 or 2016.
Nominations by members of any event-related association are welcome and all will be considered equally. Applications open Monday, August 1, 2016, cutoff date is September 15, 2016.
